Honour Choir

If you have been nominated, please go here

Atlas Voices is very pleased to announce the return of the Canterbury Secondary Schools Honour Choir for 2019. This project first appeared in 2014 through the Christchurch School of Music to great acclaim. It is a chance for our best secondary school singers to come together, get to know each other, represent their schools, and make great music.
Students in years 11-13 are “honoured” for contributions to and/or achievement in singing at their school and are nominated by a school music teacher, choir director, or HOD. Music, learning audio tracks, and instruction will be provided free of charge, and there are a number of rehearsals (approximately 4-6), usually on Sundays

The major work for 2019 will be the Requiem by Maurice Durufle with orchestra and the Atlas Voices Ensemble. The Honour Choir, which is anticipated to have over 100 singers, will also perform by themselves in a featured bracket of specially selected choral music.
